Windows Getting Broken In Empty Rental Property

I am an out of state owner of three townhomes in Phoenix, two of which are not currently rented. Twice over the last month, the sliding glass door window has been broken by vandals. I have filed a report with the police, by my management company does not have any better advice than to board it up.
I don;t think that gives a very positive signal to any potential tenants. What are my options?
Are there any home warranty plans that cover broken windows through vandalism?
Anyone faced anything similar? Any bright ideas?

Board it up. It is a sliding glass door. People will understand the reason for it being boarded up. Or consider a security system for a little quicker police response. You are luck that they are not trashing the place as well

Also, have the company hang some curtains in the place and put a couple of lamps with timers in there. This might not pass if someone's peeking through the windows, but at least it'll look lived in from the street.

Exterior lights on motion sensors. A radio inside the house, preferably turned to a talk station

None of these things are foolproof and it sounds most likely like kids who will know the neighborhood well enough not to be fooled. But they are worth a try.

Best answer-- get the place rented.
