When people sign up for the 30-day free membership, they aren't required to provide a credit card #. Omega1 has, as Joel said, taken advantage of this.
Ever since Omega1 was banned in February, another "omega" has managed to sign up, get an account and be able to send PM's, post in the Forums, and post comments to Articles.

I think it's fair to say that omega's progeny will continue to infiltrate this site until there's some change in the sign-up procedure.
Would it be possible to give people the free 30 days within which they can research and read Forum posts and Articles BUT.. would NOT be able to post or send or receive PM's unless they provided a credit card #?
