Tracking Down The Owner

A home buyer bought a house at pre-construction price 2 yrs. ago. He just lost his job and moved out of state. He has $6000 deposit that he's going to forfeit. I'm thinking I can buy the house to take advantage of the appreciation of the house which is about $10,000. But the problem is that his attorney couldn't get a hold of him and doen't want to tell me his phone number. Has anyone had any idea how to track him down? thanks.

The two best sources of owner information are your local title company and the county tax assessor's office. Also as an attorney, I know that any written comment you provide to the owner's attorney he is ethical required to forward it to the owner.
    Good luck.

White www.Pages.com to search by State. There will also be other links that pop up on other websites that will charge for the information. Do you know other people that know him or can you contact the people who have his money?

    Hope this helps.

Contact a local Skip Tracer... Cheaper than a PI. You should be able to find one through you local REI Club or a local Rental Property Owners Association.
    Good luck

Info's probably on your county's website (Assessor section; search by address or PN if you have it). If not, then try the courthouse. If you still can't find contact info, try some web searches using various combinations of name (in quotes) and towns, addresses, whatever you have. If still no results, then hire a PI or skip tracer. Who knows, maybe they're drug dealers and don't want to be found.

Hey Kyan: I can find about anyone. Let me know particulars and I would only charge if I find this person. Tell me how to get a hold of you.
