Florida Insurance And Hurricanes

From talking with investors here in southwest florida there are a lot of people concerned with the demand for real estate dropping and if reinsurance companies pull out of Florida, insurance rates will skyrocket.

If Frances nails Florida as bad or worse than Charley, how do you guys think the real estate scene will look?

Appreciate any input, with less than 6 months in the game, I am worried.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Ray. After Andrew I remember similar fears and rumors. But the snowbirds are going to keep coming to Florida in the winter and thats going to keep the economy moving. And where there is money to be made people will come. Insurance cost rises will get passed through to tenants. Everybody will scream.

    Life goes on.

Glad you and yours didn't get hurt too badly in Charley. Looks like Francis is going to give the east coast a chance. But it does look like Orlando might get hit by both. Now that is a bad summer.
