Whole-house Rewire?
Just proactively seeking a ballpark range on the cost of a whole house rewire of approximately 1200 sq ft. The range I'm looking for includes labor and materials. Oh, and we are doing all exposed metal conduit on exposed brick walls.
Any ideas?
Not every house needs to be rewired, most just need the service upgraded, along with GFCI installed or GFCI breakers at the service panel.

this is a major renovation with a complete makeover. it's already gutted and ready to go.
I can narrow it down to somewhere between $1,500-$15,000.
that's a rather large margin.
The problem with questions like these is that it all depends on your area and the difficulty of the job. If your going to have to do it no matter what, just get a couple quotes. No reason to beat around the bush here.

Welcome aboard. The previous posters are correct here. There are just too many variables that could affect the price to be able to give you any kind of accurate guesstimate. I have an electrician that I use that is good, reliable and reasonable. I would be glad to share him with you, as I can't keep him busy fulltime, but would certainly share him with you. That serves three purposes. He gets to keep busy, you get a good electrician, and I get the satisfaction that I have helped someone else. IMO...that is a critical aspect of this business. I learned a long time ago, the more networking I was able to do, the better chance for success I would have. Tradesmen are no different than any other classification or occupations. There are the top 10% and then there are all the rest. If you want, let me know and I'll be glad to lend a helping hand.
