I have had very good success with dealing with Countrywide online. Quick, specific, costs upfront, email communications, calls if needed.
I also have several loans that have been sold to them or they are servicing. Easy to contact, easy to solve problems. Problems are always clear.
I love their website! I pay all 6 of my mortgages w/them online. Even the annual escrow and insurance changes and removal of pmi is clear and specific.
I also have been pleased with WAMU and would do business w/them again in a heartbeat. I manage several props w/WAMU loans (co-own props) and I just sold my home with a great cofi WAMU product.
I do loans for investors all over the country. And I believe the best lender is the one who has the program that will best fit a particular situation or investor. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the easiest to work with or most responsive.
If you’re talking service alone, I think it a lot comes down to the rep you’re dealing with. And if not the rep, then the underwriter you’re working with. Either one can make or break a deal.
