When Did You Leave The Job To Pursue REI Fulltime?
Hello, all,
Well, Mid June is when I'm leaving my current job to move to VA and continue buying properties; what we've done thus far is to buy as many as we could, provided they turned the appropriate return, to create a base of income so that no matter what, we'll be able to live.
We have one or two flips to finish before we go, so they'll put additional $ in our pockets so that when we get there, we can get another flipper.
Ok, so when did you leave and go into REI full time?
How'd you deal with health insurance? I have my idea of who I'll do it, but I just want to be sure.
Thanks,
OTW
Put it this way, don't expect it over night..it takes years...and i mean years. Depending how dependant you are on your paycheck..the longer it takes. For me, starting when i was 19, It is eaiser for me to just not work anymore and just invest full time, for a few reasons. 1) live at home 2) little to no bills 3) no mouths to feed to backs to cloth.

I know of many full time investors in my area and they all state that one can move on to investing full-time when it is costing them money to work their regular job.
It is, of course, much easier if you don't have a family to support. But on the other hand, if your wife works, you can jump on her insurance if it permits. The average investor needs 3-4k month to retire and invest full-time. And if it is all done as a business, most (if not all) of this income should be tax-free!! Good Luck!
