What To Say As I Knock On Doors?
Might anyone have words of advice to share with me as I go knocking on people's doors to ask them to sell me their homes?? What opening lines do you use? How do you introduce yourselves?
I don't want to seem too presumptuous on one hand, or too mealy-mouthed on the other.

I dont have a script, and it usually depends on the condition of the house and how they greet me. But there may be more people that can answer this type of question in the marketing or bird dog forum.

I have been listening to a tape by Ward Hanigan from San Diego. He mentioned that some people have other folks make forclosure discussion appointments for them. Given that I am a woman, and some of the best deals in town are in a frightening neighborhood, I have been considering asking a couple young Judo experts (who work as bouncers) to make these types of appointments for me, and then have one of them accompany me as my "associate" on the appointment.
In his presentation, Ward mentioned that copmensation for such appointment-makers (would they be considered bird-dogs??) might involve a few hundred dollars upon signing of the paperwork, and perhaps several more hundred upon possession of the property.
Obviously, I wouldn't want these guys to be too threatening, and the ones I know look like real sweethearts, but they are olympic-level judo experts. At least I know they won't get whooped in the process of trying to get me some appointments.
Any ideas about this approach?

I would leave the muscle out in the car... too many cooks spoil the broth!!!! It may appear over bearing beyond the single approach...they will be close enough and you will still have a car to come back to....with all four wheels!
