What To Do If Seller...sells It?

What happens if you have a purchase contract that you were about to assign to someone else and then you find out the seller (who you had the purchase contract with) sells it without you knowing? Just curious.

Thanks

If I understood you correctly - the seller sold to another party - evn though they had already signed paperwork with you to sell you the home -- Run.... don't walk to your attorney's office.

Obviously, the first question would be the terms of the contract... Specifically, under what clause the Seller felt they could "jump ship".

First thought, what was the Time on the contract (30,60,90 days) and are you within that timeframe?

Also, a few questions out of curiousity, were you in contact w/ the Seller.... Meaning, your contract, let's assume, says 90 days... Did you wait to contact the Seller on day 80?
And, was there an Agent involved?

You can avoid this in the future by recording the purchase contract you have with the seller. This will cloud the title, and you will know if seller is trying somre trickery. Talk to an attorney, and have him review your agreement to see if you have any recourse. Sorry for your seminar lesson..........
