Hi, when we build a house turnkey it means the home is complete and ready to move into, like the definition given in #1 in the earlier post. We give the person we built the custom home for the "key", and that's all they need, nothing left to do to the home but move in.

Hope that's what you were looking for.

In referring to the term "TurnKey" , I would assume you have run across the phrase "Turnkey Sytem" . Alot of those who sell real estate type sytems or programs (or even non-realestate)sometimes use this phrase. My understanding it is just that, a system you just plug into, or do exactly what they say and it will produce results. (thus "turn-key" ). I am sure someone else can expand on this. I am not good with words today!!

Turnkey simply means a "get in and go" type of thing. Basically they are saying that its a ready to go system, plug yourself into it and go. Same thing say with houses.
If you were to buy a house that needed a rehab it wouldnt be considered turnkey because you cant just stick the key in the door and kick off your shoes. Whereas if it were rehabbed, you could just move in.

Hope that made it a little easier to understand.
