What Do I Do About Kitchen Cabinets?

Can anybody give me good ideas on what to do about kitchen cabinets that have an old fading finish. I need a quick and cheap solution than replacing them. Does anybody have a solution plus what this solution usually cost?

Given that I have made cabinets before...I would refinish them. Not real quick, but varnish is fairly cheap. Or for a less labor intemsive route...Paint them if it fits into the feel of the kitchen/house. Either way, make sure the cabinets are CLEAN before you do anything. Greese gets everywhere in a kitchen and does wonders with preventing anything that you want to stick to the cabinet (paint) from sticking

I like to paint with a white high solids laquer for a nice smooth fast drying finish at a low cost..

    Stockpro99,

thanks for all your great advise in the forums and at the SLREIA. By the way here in SLC we are still waiting for your podcast!

    Kudos,

PS.. Have you done any 10+ multifamily in Utah?

What happened? Were the bids too low?

Was it an absolute (you got no bids) or reserve (was it too high)?

The bids were too low. Not enough to get even what we put into the house.

So it was a reserve auction- or did you overbid the highest bidder?
