What Causes The Fatal Error Message?
I was replying to a thread and when I hit submit, I got the Fatal error and I hit the back button and re submitted and I had to do that about 5 times, before the message went through. I then noticed the post was duplicated. Just wondering if it's from the site or from my side? Possibly my ISP.
Its from the site. Just be patient. Joel can give you more insight than I can. I just am saying that I often experience the same problem.
Thanks, I am just wondering, I really never had this much trouble before. I have had it happen 1 or 2 times, but not this frequent.
me too.

This is the first I have heard of this. When do you experience this?? What pages do you get this message on??
actually this happens to me a lot but it's because of internet explorer and my pc. for one, sometimes i don't turn on my pop-up stopper, so i get flooded with pop-ups and they use up ur computer's resources - and if you look down when this happens, you may have 12 or 15 pop-ups open. hahaha. my guess is just that your browser needs restarted - and probably your whole pc, since it always happens to me.
also, when you press submit (as on any form anywhere), it goes first, then opens the next page - so each time you press it, it will submit, even if it looks like it blew up on you. (explains the duplications).
Well, I guess the duplicates are of course self explanitory, but the reason for the errror , I'm not real sure. I work with computers a little and most of my experience with this type of error is usually the servers taking hits at the same time someone is submitting things, (Collisions) but I don't know much about this site/BB so I'm not sure. I wonder how many other people have experienced this. BTW, Joel, I really cant remember the page or the situation because it has been so ramdom and sporadic, I guess I never paid much attention to it before. This instance was the first time I had it happen that many times in a row. Not sure if this helps. Let me know, ok? Thanks!
Don't know if this helps the techs, but the only time it has happened to me is when I am logged in at my office, utilizinfg the web through a firewall. It's only happened once or twice, though.
I was at home and using dial up. Not sure if the firewall is an issue, but I know I have mine on and I have XP for OS. Xp has a firewall in the OS and I use it. Maybe this is the reason. I also access the site from my work and I have only had it happen 1 or 2 times there. I work in Telecom and i know my company has the paranoid level security systems in place. Some of you may know the types.
