I will check into the smilies for you. That is a bug.
I lost most if not all of my article links. They all go into the front page but I want the specific one. Even I got to the article I still can't open it. I could read them but not the comment comes with it.
I like the color better. And keeping the logo the same w/o all the fussy, looks like tci could go IPO just like yahoooo!!! Keep it up, you make me want to go back to my old job now. Joel.

Joel,
I agree with Brenda. I like the color but the blue/gray makes reading text much more difficult than beige--the color we had before as the background for text.
As is my won't I turned the site over to my interior decorator to examine and comment. She of course has not a clue when it comes to Real Estate. You know her she is the one who rented a table in a big shop in Beverly Hills to launch a new line of Chinaware. Thought that this
way she could try out the upscale market and if it went why she would take it into one of the large Department Stores and get rich.
Well it went alright became the talk of the town. Everybody was piling into the little store to buy and she could hardly maintain marketable amounts on display. Yes it went all right.
Of course Bloomingdale just down the mall saw it. Called the Manufacture and confined the line direct to them by giving a really big order. My Decorator was cut out. Oh well, thats China biz.
Her Comments:
Dahling, it's just too waspish for god's sake, all that lightish blue and the trim out in white. My god do they all come from New England? Even the Quakers had better taste.
As for composition they are still pounding the eye line down the middle, doesn't anybody take a class in basic composition? You know left to right and down is not always correct. You do know there are other forms of written words. Really what was Joel thinking? Was he raised in some backwater where they still just eat with a fork and a piece of bread for a pusher? My god like going into Serriono's and ordering Grits!
So now you know. Ignore her, she needs a little physical attention, I think she craves a whip. She still drinks a Martini with the Olive still on the stick and floating.
Yes, yes it was, the wheat was great and besides it made me hungary, that is for knowledge.
Of course Rev. Locke has introduced a very dark and bold sinister looking type that is also very readable
Tell me of the bridge, I expectorate upon the bridge and thou think no longer of guns and wars but of Real Estate and the closeness of the earth. "Pant, Pant"
Ernest, get off your knees, finish the sentence. Besides an earth house will never catch on much too moldy. How can you ever sell such a place. Muggles will never luv it and you will all end up in A to Z gabam.
The above is an attempt to script advertising for a House in San Francisco which is a true Earth House located in the Prescidio and has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. No price yet, just requests for marketability. A Federal Government Agency is the present time owner. I expect it will end up as a fully controled sale to some nice newly retired General Officer of the Army. Their release is necessary for marketable title.
Lucius,
"Let not our babbling dreams affright our souls;
Conscience is but a word that cowards use,
Devised at first to keep the strong in awe;
Our stong arms be our conscience, swords our law!
March on, join bravely, let us to it pell-mell,
If not to heaven, then hand in hand to hell.
What shall I say more than I have inferred?"
I might have found a bug. When you go to a users info page and click on a article comment that they made, it does not take you to the comment they made, it takes you to the "article main" page, then you have to sift through to find the article then the comment. By that time I have forgotten the name of the article and the username so i have to start over.
P.s I find the black print against the dark background straining to the eyes.[ Edited by WheelerDealer on Date 03/22/2004 ]
In addition to the links to article comments not working from the "user info page", neither do the links posted in a thread that are supposed to take you strait to the article intended for reading. I clicked on several links posted and it took me to the "article main page" there is no way to figure out what article is being referenced by the poster.
cmyke, did you mean use darker font? Yeah, the font should be blacker so the text it's easier to be read? No, I think the original "wheat" version was not only more readable but classier and with firmer, more stable composition. And Lucius liked it more. We like him to continue typing. Are we? Take it back I vote and how A-bout you John$?
I do have more trouble reading the text. I preferred the other format personally. It's that bi-focal thing that started happening a few years ago. The other background and text was easier on my eyes. I guess the old format was easier for us bi-focal folks. Can anyone else relate?
I also noticed anew change to the houses on the sides by our names. They use to look more stately. Some of them were big and had windows etc. Now they all look the same except for the different colors and who knows what they mean now? Are two blue houses better than two green houses? What is one yellow house or one blue house. I don't quite get this at all.

Dear Joel,
You have done a really splendid job and the colors reflect your conservative, refined New England Background. What you are not from New England? Oh well got to mess up every now and then.
I looked for my name among those racing to post the most informative postings and articles. I saw Nancy leading the charge, but number one seems to have only posted once. Also although I looked high and low and I know I must have posted a few times in March, there was no mention of Lufos, not even a negative number. Not even a simple Razz Berry. Nuthin.
What have I done wrong? Yes I did have lunch with Omega, but I picked up the check and I made him a present of a nice new dictionary. Sang him a song in Albanian, told him what an Ass Tito had been
But this, I know is a bit scurvey , but still not enough to be removed from the list of ink stained wretches who labor to bring knowledge and a little humor to the grim business of playing in the dirt.
Thank you for spreading my articles around the internet. I have gained fame, and an Oxford Don has requested that I cease and desist. Something about mixed tenses and metaphors??
Thank you for restoring me to the list of those who have posted during the Ides of March.
As you know from reading your Roman History this is really a most interesting time of the year. I mean how many times does the Emperor of Rome get stabbed by his best friend and some guy by the name of Lucius runs all over the place blabbing the good news. Soooo I do stay busy.
In any case nice to see my name along with all the others trying so hard to bring meaning into the mysteries of Real Estate, lets face it dirt is complex.
I do get some weird text wrapping with the buttons. For example, where it's suppose to say "My TCI, Products & Services, Properties" mine reads, "My TCI Services" then "Products & Properties" But I'm on a Mac, so I'm used to web sites not being Mac friendly.
The new UI is mostly color and images. The navigation feels about the same.
I like the change in that it 'feels' more modern. The old UI implied a hold over from the BB era.
I agree that the use of colors and the ontrast can be a problem for some when reading text. Reverse is the worst so black with a blue background is heading in the wrong direction.
Rather than focus on the colors I would think more gain can be driven from a change in the navagation.
Joel, you're doing a kickin' job here, and as a fellow techie, I know how difficult the job you're doing is. You've 'bout got all the stuff readable again, except... The line at the top that says how many members are online, that black on dark blue isn't visible once it's been clicked on... Thanks for all the good work...
it looks a lot better with real info, not pizza descriptions. hahaha.
very nice joel!
nice color! it's cool and refreshing! the old color was starting to remind me of 70's decor!
I have a tuff time reading it, with this font, and black on darker blue color. Just my .02...

Hi Joel - My page looks the same, and on the home page, after the first article, there is this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: stoponwords() in /home/thecreativeinvestor/public_html/modules/FrontPageNew/index.php on line 86
Looks great Joel, wonderful job, looking forward to meeting you and other at the convention in Orlando.

Grey on blue is almost unreadable. It wasn't broke, why'd you 'Fixit'?

Lucius,
Putting aside what your interior designer thinks...
Was it easier for you to read the text when the background was, shall I say, "wheat" or "buff" as opposed to "Williamsburg blue"?
Yes, yes it was, the wheat was great and besides it made me hungary, that is for knowledge.

It's a little hard to read.
Sorry.

Sorry folks but I'm not seeing it. Having no trouble reading the text. Maybe a little darker would be better but the change is refreshing.

I like this new color. The article comment links still do not work though through the "user info page"
Hi Joel - I can't accesss/edit my properties - I get this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: toolbar() in /home/thecreativeinvestor/public_html/modules/TCIRealty/index.php on line 811
:-o
How about putting the "in-jail" box on the Members tab where there is lots of extra white space? I think it is a sort of amusing feature here on TCI.
If you get that fatal error message... you might have to go to:
Tools (look up)
Internet options
Delete temp internet Files and offline content.
Delete cookies too
that may do the trick...
Joel
Whats up with the balloon multi-colored houses they are supposed to be a joke arent they?
I like a little change every now and then but it is a little harder on the eyes ( color scheme ).
Ed
Oh and the smiles still arent working.
Hee Hee!
