Does anybody have any info regarding Waukegan IL? I'm looking to buy two units but wanted to know if the town has any room for growth. Any info would be appreciated.
Waukegan Isn't to bad of a town from what i have seen waukegan is growing slowly but sherly the genese theater just recently got a complete make over along with the entire building. But like I said the town is growing. I don't know what part you are intrested in but it has it's good and bad www.parts.Good luck!
From most of building, rehabing and remodeling going on I would have to tell you yes. I do some home repair in waukegan and I see alot of work going on so I say you have a pretty good chance.
Waukegan is definitely growing, and I strongly believe that there's plenty of room for appreciation. Some parts of Waukegan are worse than others, but even area south of Rt. 120 is turning over, so a two-unit in the right place is a good investment. As with any piece of real estate, remember three magic words - location, location, location.
waukeegan? if you are a beginner why not start in a chicago area. there are plenty of areas in the city that will reap nice profits on a flip or great cash flow on sec 8 rental. contact me if you would like to move further south from Waukeegan and into Chi-town.
I'm interested. Can you give me some more details?

yes, of course. i would reccomend starting in w.englewood/auburn/ roseland areas where there is alot of rehab in progress but property can still be obtained for <60k, rehabbed for <20k
then sold for >100k in a few months.

I'm interested around the downtown area.
Between grand and washington from sheridan to lewis perhaps a little more that area there is pretty decent.
Do you think the area will be much improved in 5-10 years?
