Walk In Crawl Space Wall Collapsing
I looked at a rehab house with a walk in crawl space, dirt floor (wet) with old coal shoot and furnance under the house. You enter the crawl from a flight of stairs from inside the house.. The dirt wall under the foundation is collapsing into the crawl space. About 6 inches of bottom of foundation is exposed now. Former owner tried a skim coat of concreat to no avail - it collapsed also. Any suggestions as to how to make this a permanent fix if I buy this?
Dig it out and pour a proper footing? Call a contractor.
Just something to think about. If you plan on selling this house, your market will be much narrower as this will scare most average buyers away. Most likely resulting in a longer market time or reduced price.
