Upcoming LA County Tax Sale
Has anyone participated in the LA County Tax Sale before? My gut guess is it will be a waste of time for the individual investor like me and will be dominated by high stakes bank investors.
I'm also quite miffed they do not even provide an Excel spreadsheet of the deeds being auctions. I assume this information is available electronically to some parties though not listed as such on their website, is it?
Thanks for any input,
TimJowers

i just checked out this website, so most of these parcels are vacant land or do they have houses?
once u purchase the parcel, is this now ur property?
frebay,
Did you notice the Terms and Conditions quotes you must pay up if $5k in section F but says if <=$50k in section E? I emailed them about this. Also, did you find the GIS maps online? Are the numbers in the bok the tax map nubers to look up the property info on the GIS page?
I found this realted link:

I also saw "beacon" posted on this site a few years ago (found it in a google cache) but cannot see how to email this use to ask what they found out.
Best luck,
I live near the Redondo Beach pier at The Vlg apt.s.
anyone know if there are any deals to be had at these tax auctions? on average, how much do these properties go for?
An ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME.
Researched this fairly thoroughly. Anything worth anything was redeemed/pre-bought before the sale which occurs on Monday. The only stuff left is unusable strips of land and land in non-buildable spots.
Summary: Los Angeles County Tax Defaulted Poperty Sale is an absolute waste of time for the individual investor. We will not bother even going to the auction.
:-x Thanks to LA County for posting the redeemed properties list each day ... the only remaining decent stuff was redeemed on the last day - posted on Saturday!
Best luck in future endeavors.
