Un-boarding Down A House
Hey All,
I am hoping to acquire a boarded up house in Oklahoma City this October. How does one go about un-boarding down a house ? Will I need some authorization from the City that boarded it up in the first place, or can I just go to the property and tear down those boards ?

You need to research more.
Who put the boards up? If it was the owner to protect the property you can do what you want.
If the city boarded the place because it is unsafe, etc then you have to know the rules re: access. There is liability issues in this case if someone was to enter and get hurt.
Take some time to figure out how you are going to isure the place why you are working on it. Liability and damage.

I've looked at properties that were boarded up. I just riped the boards off and went inside, then put them back up when I was done. But as far as a property that may be boarded up because its in violation Im not sure how one might deal with that.
Best of luck,
James
Check if the county/city to make sure you don't get fined and or arrested.
I know of cities in Ohio (Dayton, Kettering) that board up and/or post notices just because the house is vacant. There could be absolutely nothing wrong with the house. I would sure like to know what "law" gives them this power.
