Tracking Down The Owner
In searching for the owner of a property I am interested in I have so far found:
1. the owners listed by the county are both deseased
2. no mortgages or liens are listed on property report. taxes show delinquent
3. the county lists a "notice of trustee" sale in 2002 w/ the deseased owners as "grantees" and relatives listed as "grantors".
Initially, when I spoke to a relative of the deseased owners she said the house had gone back to the finance co.-
I am stumped as to where to go next to find out who now has the deed to this house. Could it be that the person/company who now holds the deed just hasnt recorded it or paid taxes in the past couple of years since taking title? If so, where do I go next?[ Edited by linlaughed on Date 10/22/2004 ]
Have you tried buying the tax liens?
