To Be Or Not To Be

Pretty much the same scene in South Carolina as a previous post on this forum. 5 RE transactions without the aid of a RE agent or broker and they can fine you. Belive me when I say that if you are infringing on an agents area and he/she associates the FSBO signs with you on more than 5, you will get reported to the local board. If you become an agent then you have to pay broker fees and you also set yourself up for un-seen legal battles since you had knowledge superior to the average home seller. This is the toss up I face noe, to be or not to be! wink

In Iowa I don't have this problem. I had a comment by a broker once and I told him that I would buy from him or his agents if he has suitable houses listed. I have also bought more from brokers than FSBO so that might also help.

I would imagine that there are sufficient Real Estate Companies (small one arm bandit shops) which would be happy to act as an intermediary for you for a nominal transaction fee.
