To All Investors Who've Invested In People

I'd like to say, "Thank-you" to all investors with kind hearts who have helped the people they do business with. Mr. T.L. Thaggard was such a man who invested in my husband and me, more than my business. While he was a very astute, successful business man, he also had a heart for helping folks who needed it. We attended his funeral yesterday, and there were scores of folks in attendance he has helped through the years.

While learning about REI I've discovered some investors are not much different than banks in their approach. They've taken out the human element and base their decisions solely on numbers. I'm sure that this means they usually make wise investments and are successful. I am not faulting them. I do, however, appreciate the fact that some investors are able to look beyond the figures and facts and see a way to benefit themselves and help someone too.

I've seen examples of such folks on this board. Folks who'll give more cash than they "have" to to help someone - even someone who probably doesn't "deserve" it - help them to start anew. This touches my heart and creates a desire in me to keep focused on not just climbing the shortest route to reach my financial goals, but choosing the path that may take a little longer, but hopefully doing some good along the way. Not so a lot of folks will attend my funeral smile, but because I, hopefully, have been true to who I want to be.

So thanks to all investors who have hearts of gold who may not get the recognition or thanks they deserve all the time. And thanks to all those who help others on this site by sharing their knowledge and experiences here so others might learn. Thanks for giving of yourself.

Terry

Hi, If this isn't encouraging. I don't know what is. This blessed me. This shows a reflection of many investors who are out there who have the hearts of Gold and the heart of God to be willing to see others successful. I know that I can't buy the whole nation so why hold it from someone out there who can.

I have spoken to other investors who have told the sad experiences of dealing with other investors who burnt them and never paid them one red cent when they went out there locating property. I know we all make mistakes but it is ashame when people do people that way. That is being a thief and not success. How can anyone live with their self?!

I am glad that you were able to express and share how this gentlemen opened the doors of opportunity in your life and others and I hope that you find it in your heart daily to do the same.

I also look at it, that if you help others this is where you shine in the midst of.. It is not about the money, but integrity and virtue.

Be blessed. May the Lord face shine upon you.

I am sorry for your loss and appreciate you taking the time to tell the board about your benefactor, mentor and friend. It is refreshing to see that some folks have and still live by the Golden Rule. Hopefully, you will share you successes in life and will someday be in the position to help others as others helped you in the past.

    Best Wishes,
    Shawn(OH)

Thank you Concrete for sharing your story with us all...I hope that your story will shed light on those successful ones who have forgotten what it was like when they were once newbies.
Your mentor and friend is truly a one of kind ...and he will be profoundly missed by many. He truly has made a mark here on earth for himself....And this is why he achieved great success because of his unconditional love and concern for others and their success.
We all need each other at some point in time in life...Its kind of like the human body....each bodily part is relative to each other in some form....without one part we become handicaped....until we figure a way to compensate for that loss....We are all Jehovah Gods children...lets stop the nonsense and help each other succeed....Isn't that what unconditional love is all about....That's what Jesus tried to teach man when he once walked the face of this earth....
Peace & Blessings to you all~
