TLC In Michigan?

Has anyone invested in tax lien certificates (tlc) in Michigan? If so, how does the procedure work? I realize that there is a special auction around the month of November but can one purchase these properties after the auction? Also, there is a website that shows how much taxes are owed but is that all that has to be paid or are there more fees that the sellers/auctioneers are not disclosing? confused

I don't believe that tax liens are sold in MI anymore. It has changed over to being a deed state.

I suggest you read the state statutes related to the collection of delinquent property taxes. Also, look on the websites of the various ounty treasurer offices for their descriptions.

Sometimes, it is better when you are first getting to know the ins and outs, to go to the offices that have this information in person and talk to the people who work there. You will be surprised at how helpful they will be. And, as a gesture of kindness, maybe you could buy them a coffe or lunch for their time. You might find a freind for life! All for the price of being nice. Good luck!

By the post, I thought you meant "TLC" for the Wolverines after the Rose Bowl...
