Time Frame?

I had a mortgage company run a credit check for me on 09/24/2004 in regards to refinancing. If I had another credit check done now would it bring down the credit score (inquiry)more because it's between a certain time frame form the last one?

Probably, but it would depend on how many other inquires you had throughout the year and all the other factors that go into you credit score.

If you TRULY had no other adverse actions and only the inquiry, the impact should be minimal.

A late payment, additional inquires, a higher balance to limit ratio on your credit cards, accounts that were closed with a long, good payment history, etc.

Anything tha is viewed as a negative as far as credit goes.

Getting a credit report for your own personal use has no impact on your score. It is advised that everyone should check their credit on a regular basis. The score is impacted when you apply for credit from many sources, you are late, or you are a victim of identity theft.
