Could anyone give me some insight on the best way to get started in tax lien investing? Would it be auctions or going staight to the county treasurer? Also, are there any good books to buy? Thanks

Thanks for the info. I have heard of Larry Lofits. I recently went to Donald Trumps Real Estate Seminar here in dallas, and it was all sales. A live infomercial. So beware of those real estate seminars. Hey Stat Haldol, I am also from louisiana, new orleans. Have anyone ever purchased any tax liens, if so how was the process?

How many forum members do tax lien investing part-time? ANd how many do it full time? I heard that Texas has a 25% interest. Is that true?

I had heard that Roy Stubblefield, a tax sales guru, liked the Texas system so much that he moved there. I was hoping that, once I am able to retire from my job, spend a fair amount of time in Texas scouring the rural counties for some good buys.
Unfortunately, based on your testimonial, it seems like such opportunity is either gone (at worst) or very hard to come by (at best).

So, basically you make a lil change out of the deal, but not a whole lot to stop your day job. That is cool. I could use this as a part time gig.
A former girlfriend of mine took her share of a chunk of change we made together to the Hawaii County tax sale about eight years ago. She picked up one parcel for under 10K that is worth an easy quarter million today- but then again everything on the island doubled, redoubled, and then doubled again in that time. Still it was worth three or four times that much even then...
Right place, right time, know the area- it can happen.
