Yes, I check credit, criminal, and employment. I went through the phone book and found someone who will do all 3 for $30.00...

http://www.citicredit.net is a quick and inexpensive service. There are others that are more comprehensive but require a little more setup. Citi just requires a fax to set-up and can email you results in minutes.[ Edited by 3qu1ty on Date 11/14/2003 ]

    Yes. Absolutely!!!

In central Wisconsin I use the Apartment Association of South Central Wisconsin. For $20 for a single check I get a credit check, criminal background (including arrests) and eviction history. Of course, I can only use the arrests to show a pattern of unacceptable behavior which in WI is a valid reason for denial. The service has been wonderful!

I use www.freecriminalreports.com to pre-screen everyone. I've found lots of local courts that I didn't know were available. Well worth the monthly fee they charge since I saved $20.00 on a single application.
