Tenant Modifications - Should They Be Allowed?

I have some tenants who want to install a bathroom door in the master bedroom shower. Currently, there is only room for a shower curtain and they claim that water continuously splashes over the floor and could “damage” the floors.

How should I approach this? Should I just give them permission to put in the new door? How about when they leave, do they get to remove the door at that time? Also, do I need to share the cost of putting in the new door? I am just concerned that if there is any damage to the floor, they can come back to say that they expressed a concern which I did not address.

Any thought, comments, advice?

Thanks in advance,
JS.

Do you mean a shower door? If you have a tile shower/bathtub that would mean that they would have to drill into the tile, this is very tricky to do w/o cracking the tile.
