Tenant Joined Military

This tenant not only broke his 10 month Lease Agreement after 5 months of occupany but he insists to get his deposit back.He claims he is protected by Law that leaves him free of any binding housing agreements (if he goes in the service)and therefore he is entiled to his deposit refund as well.

Any one out there know anything about this type of situation I would appreciate hearing from you

Thanks in advance

It is called the Sevicemembers Civil Relief Act. It allows for people who enter or are ordered into the military to get out of their leases. He is resposible for any expenses he has incurred as a consequence of the lease, however, other than this he is entitled to return of security deposit. You can find more on the web...[ Edited by edmeyer on Date 02/08/2006 ]
