Are you talking about buying tax deeds at an auction--or tax lein certificates?I do know that when buying tax deeds you need to check for leins and encumbrances--zoning--hazardous waste...etc. It's called due dilligence. There is a good website to check out--PM me and I'll send it to you! What state and county are you in?
Are you refering to tax lien certificates or properties sold at a tax sale?

Well, I'm not an expert, but from the reading I've done,
Any lien paying a decent interest rate where you've visited the property and know it's more valuable than the amount of the lien.
