Title Insurance Premiums are pretty standard and what you do is look at the Schedule of Title Insurance Premiums. In your area Old Republic Title Co and Commonwealth Land Title.
A single purchase Town house will not entitle you to any discounts. The discount game is played by leaving titles open or by volume usage. If you are good at Negotiation you try to include this in the Sellers cost when you are buying and vice versa when selling. Also you as a matter of course check and see who wrote the policy on last transfer, or foreclosure sale or whathave you and then you contact that title co. with the old title order and see if you can bargain as all that is required is a date down.
It is a cost of doing business and hopefully the seller will pick up the tab. It is negotiable and if you agree to pay make sure you get teh seller to give in on something else that you may want.
