Tax Issues

i am considering buying an office bldg in which I will occupy about 20% of space . I rent out rest of building and am responsible for leasing ,. contacting contractors for repairs etc. Am I limited on my deductions by my income from non real estate activities (I am not in the real estate business per se) in my regular business. If I have a loss on building ie expenses exceed income can I deduct from my non real estate income?
