Swithching Mobile Home Title

Question for you folks. Earlier I was talking about my sister not switching her title for her trailer that she was given. She told me that this past week she had the title switched...but at the DMV.....anyone ever heard of this?

a mobile home is titled like a vehicle, so any title changing will occur at the DMV.

Only when a mobile is permanently affixed to the property (like brick underpinning) can it be deeded as "real property" and become like a regular house.

And as such is that why they lose value so quickly then I supposed because they are treated as a glorified car?

Pretty much hit the nail on the head.

A mobile home is essentially built on a tractor-trailer type frame (though modified in length/width). Older models (late 60's early 70's) even had the tail lights built into the "vehicle" just like a regular auto.

Nowadays, they are generally built on much higher standards for quality, but they will still depreciate to a point.
