Sugg. Needed--Letter To Vacant Property Owner

Hi,

I'm hunting down a vacant property owner and have only been able to find the owners out-of-state address. Is there any problem with me identifing myself as a real estate investor who buys and repairs houses in the letter?

What's the best way to handle a letter like this?

Thanks

    Hi Viking,
My mother has been sendinng some of these letters that you are suggesting. With a simple letter saying your name and that you are interested in buying their "home"(don't call it a house, you are trying to warm up to them), explain that their home looked vacant or in need of some care, and you were interested in buying a home like this. Also add a remark about, if they are not interested, sorry to have bothered them. And of course make it easy for them to contact you. Having sent out 12 of this type simple letters, my mom has had incredible success, 5 responses and 2 deals in the works. So, you don't need to necessarily say you are an investor, afterall once you buy the property it is yours to do what you want with. grin
