Stone Fireplace
I have a fixer upper with 2 stone fireplaces, and the stone on both is really dirty and nasty one looks like it got some water stain on the stone beacuse of a leak around the chimney that I already fixed I just need to make the stone look nice and clean before I try to sell it. any ideas thanks in advance
If it is just the baseboards they are cheap enough to replace.
What is wrong with the baseboards that a new coat of paint would not solve? Beginning rehabbers always look too much at the little detail and not at the big picture. They also always over improve their properties. I have bought numereous houses that are 80-60 years old and have never once thought - wow, I need to get rid of those layers of paint.
If they are original baseboards you might be destroying some of the period charm for a potential buyer if you put in new baseboards. Honestly, out of everything you can do in a rehab, replacing baseboards is almost zero return on your investment.
Ah, nevermind, found the answer after searching
