Starting Up Group Homes
I am looking to buy a large 11,000sq ft house with 10 bdrms and I was told that it would be ideal to turn into a group home for the state. I would like to know if anyone knows how to get this started. Would the state give a grant to purchase the property or to renovate it? I was told that they would give me a grant to furnish it but they didn't know if the grant would cover the purchase. Who would I contact to begin the process?
I use Lesko just do a search for his books on the internet. It is a good primer for phone number to call for government related grants. Also dont forget that there is federal funding as well. Since you are setting up a business you may also want to look into SBA they will require you to go to a course but you will get free counseling on goverment dealings by doing so. Last time I checked it was 75 bucks for all 3 courses.
