Should This Still Show On My Credit Report?

So, I checked my credit report online and found out that there is still an old negative account from 1995 showing on my credit report. The account was charged off and delt to a collection agency, but I was under the impression that items older than 7 years should and can be removed.

What's the best way to address this with the credit agencies? Is there a standard form/letter someone can refer me to?

I am cleaning up my credit now that I have decided to embark on a real estate investing career and could use your suggestion.

Formally Dispute it with the Credit Reporting Agency.

Dispute as "not mine" .... if that fails, follow up with "obsolete". If they can't show it's yours, there will be no question whether it's "obsolete" ... and it should also disappear from any "full factual" report that might be pulled for a loan over $150k ... whereas if it's merely "obsolete" it might still show up.
