Sheer Platinum Enterprises

SPE offers a $300 fee to bird dogs that locate people holding owner financed notes that will sell them to SPE for 100% asking price. I have been doing this for a month now (no closes yet, though) and was wondering what other's thought about this. The fee is low, I know, but there is some great free birddogging training on the website. Let me know if you think I am wasting my leads or if it is worth it....Thanks!

Well, I do know that a month ago they were offering $700 per lead. When they changed their website a couple weeks ago it went down to $300 per lead. You've been doing this for a month...are they not honoring the $700 fee arrangment you signed up under?

I also know that they were offering a "free" bird-dogging course online (at least most of the course). When they changed their website a couple weeks ago they shortened the course and decided to charge $60 to get the full version.

What folks don't know is that they had bought Barry Grimes "Real Estate Jobber" course last September, immasculated it and changed a few names and terms (eg- substituting the word "locator" for "jobber"wink, and then released it for sale as their own. I've seen both the "free" course Sheer Platinum offered and Barry's original course...talk about blatent copyright infringement!

These folks are severely ethically-challenged and I would think a million times before doing business with them or referring a note holder to do business with them.

You had to sign on as a Sheer Platinum "contractor" to qualify for the referral fee did you not? If they decide to rip off one of the note holders you referred to them (remember, ethically-challenged), what's going to protect you from litigation?

BTW, Barry found out about being ripped off and posted some "fraud alert" messages around. Since then I've noticed that Sheer Platinum's website is down. Does that suggest anything to you?

I have recently heard about that. I actually heard about it here but thought they were talking about someone else. I also heard about it on the REI toolbelt site linked with SPE. I have no idea if anyone has even closed that I referred, so no I am not saying they ripped me off. I just haven't had my emails responded to, the site is down, there is talk of fraud...just not something that I want to be a part of I guess. I am just trying to make an honest buck (really...HONEST). I can't believe they are charging to train the people that are bringing them business. Job training in any other job pays you when you work for the trainers...independant contractor or not! I have not sent any leads in since they cut off contact. I hope my legal butt isn't in trouble!
Anyone else ever work with SPE???
