Section 8 Housing
My sister died this year and left me with a house that has a mortgage. I cannot continue to pay the mortgage each month and would like to put the house on section 8. The property is located in Mississippi. Can I do this and how can I get the house on section 8?
Usually a tenant who is Section 8 approved will ask you if you accept Section 8 when they call and ask about the property that you are renting... If you will, and the rental meets Section 8 requirements, the prospective tenant will give you a packet of paperwork that must be completed and returned to the appropriate housing authority.
Some housing authorities have a list of properties that are available to Section 8 tenants ... call your local agency that handles Section 8 and ask them if they do, and what you need to do to be listed.
