Section 8 & Extra Bedroom Question
Hi all, I rehabbed a house recently, put an extra bedroom in the basement. I have the egress window installed wring inspected and smoke alarms wired into the electric so it is all up to code. Rented out to a sect * tenant as a 3 br @ 550 a month. Inspection came and passed, moved tenant in and now section 8 is saying that it is only a two bedroom and will only pau for it as a 2 bedroom. Has any one else run into this? What can I do?
If section 8 already passed it as a 3 bdrm in their inspection, then it is a 3 bdrm. Call up the case worker and kindly tell her you will be starting a lawsuit the second that they start payment as a 2 bdrm. Im sure your problem will be resolved.
