Section 8 Appeal
Had been slowly getting rid of Sec 8. Had one did 4K in damages. I would not let this one go because of the amount. Local office sent an inspector out for just a quick look and said I would need to get a judgment against tenant to stop their sec 8. Tenant got a legal aid lawyer and took me about 9 months to get my final judgment. So sec 8 notifies tenant they will drop her. She appeals. I go to sec 8 appeals hearing with a VHDA hearing officer . Seems to go fine since tenant does not have any defense. Now 2 months later find out tenant won the appeal Case worker at local office that did not know much said since the local sec 8 offices did not have an inspector fill out some forum tenant won the appeal. Also said they were told that we had to get a judgment first and now are told that you don’t get judgment first. I have a call in to the hearing officer so I can get a straight answer and know for next time.
