This is kind of like asking what does it cost to buy a car...if it is a ford pinto it is not all that costly. If it is a european sports car the cost will be a little more.
Residential units are anywhere from $75 a foot to upwards of anywhere from $500 to $900 a sq. ft. Commercial can be anywhere in between.
For $90/ft, I would expect tract home quality town homes or detached homes. Commercial is more expensive.
