Response From "My First Deal"
In VA there is not a redemption period on the taxes and home owners can keep there property for a 3 years and maybe a few months more before notice is given to the public. I have not done a title search yet on the property, I just located it today. I found at least 20 houses and vacant lots. A few homes are vacant. I thought of sending a letter to the home owner with a lease option agreement. However the house needs a little TLC on the outside. My fear is what is lurking on the inside. If it is not too bad my next fear is having to pay rent until it is ready for rental.
But since the taxes are behind, and I need to find out how long it has been, can I write up a contract similiar to a lease-option to pay the taxes first and then lease-option.
