Can anyone here tell me where to obtain statistical information with respect to what parts of the country presently offers the most attractive speculations for vacant land ? waterfront or otherwise ? Are there any good publications a potential investor may obtain ? Thank you

    Hi,

I would suspect any such publications as the variables present on a daily inspection are imense.

For example a Beach front lot came on the market in Redondo a beach community in Calif. It was listed at $200,000. The nearest item that had been offered that year was over $500,000
Needless to say it was purchased within the office of the listing Broker in something like ten minutes of disclosure of listing.

I am actively looking for lots, all kinds of buildable lots for infill building. I pretty well run all day. Most prices are so high I wonder if I am in the right country. But I negotiate trying to find the owner that really wants to sell. Sometime the property price stays high but by proper negotiation I can accomplish the ownership of a piece of land on which to build.

I sometimes buy a house on a double lot. Some already divided into two or three lots, some not. I check the zoning requirements and where possible I divide the parcel and resell the house and lot keeping one buildable lot for future development. Interesting but very time consuming.
