Replace An Exterior Door Without Replacing The Door Jamb

I have a metal exterior door that I want to replace with a door with windows. The house is only four months old and the jamb is square. Will a new door fit right in or will I need to saw down for the door to fit? And how would you do this with a metal door?

"Standard" is the key word here. My last project had a somewhat dented steel door I wanted to replace. But the measurements were quite strange- I guess the previous owners had a custom door made to fit a frame from 100 years ago, when everything ws custom and there was no "standard".

Anyway, after reviewing my options- have a custom door made at great expense and taking too long in any case, or enlarging the doorway (huge hassle!)- I decided to use a trick I had read about here and just smoothed it out with drywall mud and put a few layers of exterior paint on it. Looks great!

Thanks for the advice. Is it possible to buy a steel door without a jamb?

I found the door by the same brand, fit like a dream.
