Rent Per Sq Foot?

I keep hearing "the rent for this office space is 50-70 dollars per sq foot. now how exactly is that calculated on a weekly, monthly, or yearly avrg?

    Maybe your rates are real high up there???

    Typically, at least here in the SE, commercial lease rates are quoted as a per sq. ft. price for the year. I.e. $20 a sq. ft. for 1,500 sq. ft. of space would cost you $30,000 per year, or $2,500 per month.

    thanks again, you are a great help. actually im pretty close to the n.y. area and im very interested in trying to get something going down there, and the rates are actually easily over 100 per sq. ft. but not around my area. just some insight.[ Edited by ZinOrganization on Date 11/19/2004 ]
