Maybe you can help me....I need a quick and cheap way to remove paint from the wood siding on the outside of my house. I tried a scraper no luck. Any suggestions[ Edited by bacardidark313 on Date 11/23/2004 ]
An orbital sander would be cheap and it is quick. Relatively quick if you judge it against sanding by hand. If the paint isn't coming off with a scraper it probably doesn't need to come off. If you are doing this more to even out the surface so the finished paint job looks perfect then get out the orbital.
If you get a heat gun, Wagner and Milwaukee both make good ones, you can melt the paing then it will scrape right off. Look in the paid dept at a Home Depot/Menards/Lowes. It will cost about $30 and save you 100's of hours.
Porter Cable makes a power paint remover. I have never used it, but it has gotten good reviews. It has a round abrasive disk and roller guides to prevent digging into the siding.

If you just need the big chunks knocked off, try a pressure washer, but be WAY careful, 'cause you can know holes in the wood thataway.

I am confused about why you would want to do this. Perhaps you can enlighten us on that subject and more helpful advice can be given.
