Relcoating A Mobile Home Help
I saw 2 free mobile home give aways in the classifieds this week in my area. One is 1,900 sq ft. Does anyone know the price/cost to relocate a mobile home this size to raw land i am thinking of bidding on at a land auction?
Also, how much would it be (estimate) to get the place hooked up with water, gas/or electric? Anything else am I missing to get this mobile home relocated and ready to rent out?
Anyone want to help me fund this project in return for half of cash flow profits? It's local for me and I would oversee entire relocate, fix up and rent project.
Colin
Also, the mobile home is a 2 bedroom, which I feel can rent out for $800 to $1,200 a month. I know a 2 bed apartment rents for $1,100 a month in this city on avg.
Would a mobile home on your own yard be worth more or less rent than a apartment? Looking for info and/or funding partner.
Looks to me like you need to get out and find a moving company and get its cost, in writing, to relocate the MH, then shop for some MH OK lots on which you might move a MH.
They're usually free for a reason...the owner couldn't afford the relocating. So be sure YOU can before you buy them.
As lots of posts here have said, it's usually a LOT easier to buy one in a MHP than it is to buy and MOVE one.
I can only give info from this part of the country but I just bought and moved an old mobile home and set it up on it's own lot. The move was $950.00 but there aren't many people up this way that do that so shop around.
Driveway-septic-pad for trailer-water line $6000.00
Electric underground 200' (I dug the line myself) $1,600.00
Artesian Well (I ran the line and dropped pump myself $3,600.00 then just prepare yourself for the nickel and dime stuff, sink drains, toilet, faucets, rugs etc... good luck and don't get discouraged you'll learn a lot.
Thanks for the info! It's a lot of ground to cover! Thanks again.
