Strong Wind Ripped Siding...Insurance Question

Strong gusts of wind over the weekend ripped off a good section of siding on my house. This house when I bought came with a tenant. I have given the tenant a 60 day notice to quit property. Meanwhile, on my insurance paper, it is listed as an owner occupied house. I am trying to claim the loss of siding from my insurance company. Would the fact that there is a tenant in the house undermine my chances of getting the insurance company pay for damages? I have the inspector from the insurance company coming to take a look at the house in a few days.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, if you signed an "owner-occupied" policy application, intentional or not, the insurer can deny claim. Have you talked to the Agent?

I had the claims adjustor come take a look at the house. After a few days he called me and said I would be getting 6K for repairs. The process was simple and straightfoward. Insurance is great!!
