Painting Kitchen Cabinets

I often encounter drab kitchen cabinets. In the past, I have painted with a high gloss latex paint. Recently, I tried a high gloss oil paint. Wow! The brand is Porter. I added some Penetrol and brushed it on. The brush strokes did not entirely flow out. Second coat - I roll it on. The dappled finish and the gloss really looks great.

Anybody else have tips on painting cabinets?

I prefer a sprayer if you have one available and a white high solid laquer looks very nice. Here I use Kadilac white.

Penetrol and Flotrol really help even out the brush strokes...

What do you folks think is the right color?

I alway used white, but this time a pale version of the Travertine countertop. Sitting next to white appliances the color is apparent but subtle. I liked it.

Always white as well. Sherwin Williams has a self-leveling paint. Brush strokes go away. Nice final product.

I prefer white or a bone and then use an off setting white pull etc.
