Sorry to post so late, but I had to reply. $1800-2000 will probably never get you a 1,000 SF concrete driveway- asphalt maybe, but not concrete.
I know the prices in GA are probably less than in NJ (where I am), but concrete work here is $4.50-$5/SF for sidewalks, patios, etc. (4" thick), and more like $6-$6.50/SF for 6" driveways. It also depends on whether old material is being torn out to install the driveway, what the subbase prep is, and several other considerations.
I'd be VERY suprised if you can get a concrete driveway for $1.80-$2/SF- the concrete alone for a 6" driveway is approximately $1/SF!!
Thanks for the response, I did check with some local builders and basically they told me to take the Sq ft/75 * $95 for 1000 sq ft would cost about $1266, and that is4", we don't worry about frost and anything like that so four is usually fine unless supporting heavy loads. A whole lot less than I expected, being from the North myself.
Bob-
Nice to see you over here. I lurk around jlc now and again. Believe it or not, flatwork here in GA is very affordable. Turnkey sidewalks and driveways are $1.50 to $1.90 sq. ft. Turnkey house slabs are about $2.50 a sq. ft. Your prices in NJ would give me a heart attack!
$1800-2000 approx.
really?? that is a lot less than I thought. I expected at least twice that much.
Thanks!
