Basement Dehumidifier
I'm planning on getting one for my basement. Any ideas of what I need. I found one for $199 that has an adjustable humistat. It says I can connect it to a garden hose to drain. Could I drain the hose into the washing machine drain in my laundry room? It's empty while I re-hab it. Thanks!

Dehumidifiers are rated by area to be used in. If you buy one to small it will have to work extra hard to produce the desired results. I think they are rated per sq. ft. you will need to check what your $199 special is rated for.
Yes you can put the hose in the laundry trap. Use the washing machine hose (or an old one) for the drain hose, that way you dont have to cut a garden hose.
