Real Estate Lawyer Required?
Are there any items prior to closing or at closing that I should have a Lawyer look at prior to or when purchasing a home?
What are the approximate cost for an attorney?
Thanks in advance!

How are you purchasing the home? I have everything I don't understand reviewed by my attorney for free (usually).
Hi,
I'm purchasing the home with an ARM loan. It's a 100% loan. There is a primary loan and a second mortgage loan to make up the difference.
when I worked in a law office, we told our clients not to even sign the purchase agreement without bringing it in. these are generic forms filled out by realtors every day but every so often someone had a special circumstance. that said, most people didn't contact us until they had a signed deal and were ready for title work.
I call or e-mail my lawyer with all sorts of questions since I just started this in May. I have a good grasp of a lot of things due to my employment background so I'm guessing that's why he helps me for no fee - usually he's just confirming something that I already know the answer to. I'm also buying properties and he's getting a settlement fee and a hefty portion of the title insurance premium for 4 closings - I'm sure that's also why he is so free with the info.
